Chelan Estate, 2006 Pinot Noir
bright ruby red color, red fruit aromas, cranberry and cherry flavors with a hint of smoke, earth and licorice.
Pinot Noir grapes are grown on our eight acre vineyard on the cool south shore of Lake Chelan. We grow three clones of Pinot Noir, #115, #113 and #13. Each of these clones adds its own character and qualities to the final wine. 2006 was a normal growing year for the Chelan Valley. The cool spring was followed by a warm summer and cooling once again in the fall produced good flavors and even ripeness. The grapes are hand-picked, de-stemmed and gently crushed retaining 40% whole berries. Cold soaking takes place for three to five days. Fermentation is conducted in small open top, stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged in new French oak (30%) and used French puncheons.
The wine has a bright ruby red color, red fruit aromas, cranberry and cherry flavors with a hint of smoke, earth and licorice. Crisp acidity creates a clean finish and a versatile food partner for salmon, oysters, smoked meats and cheeses.

Chelan Estate, Chardonnay - Viognier (Non-Vintage)
A classic style white with stone fruit aromas, apple and pear fruit flavors backed by crisp acidity for a clean finish.
Chardonnay and Viognier grapes are grown on our eight acre vineyard on the south shore of Lake Chelan. This cool vineyard location is ideal for the even ripening and flavor development of Chardonnay and Viognier. Blending the 2008 and 2009 vintages produced a wine with better balance and character than the two vintages separately. The grapes are hand-picked, whole cluster pressed and slowly fermented in temperature controlled tanks. No malolactic fermentation was employed to retain the natural acidity. The wine was aged in used French puncheons.
